Hello lovely souls! ๐๐
There is a moment โฆ before someone reads your about page, before they see your offer, before they book a call with you where people simply notice your name.
And in that moment, something happens.
They either lean in, or they scroll on.
Your business name is like the first handshake. The first impression. The first energetic signal you send out into the world.
And for entrepreneurs and business owners, it is one of the most important decisions you will make when you start your business.
So how do you find a business name that truly symbolize you and your expertise?
a name that carries your brand identity
When it comes to finding the matching business name, there are two paths.
The first is your own name.
When you are the heart of what you offer, when people come to you, your experience, your presence, your expertise, your own name can be the most powerful branding choice you make.
It says: I stand behind this. Fully. Many coaches, consultants and mentors choose this path, and it works beautifully when the relationship between client and founder is the central piece of the work.
The second path is creating something new. A brand name that builds a world. A feeling, a promise, a place people can step into even before they meet you. A name that holds your vision, your values, your mission and carries them even when you are not in the room.
This is the path for businesses that want to grow beyond one person, or for founders who want their brand to hold a bigger story than their own biography.
Both are right. Both can be extraordinary. The question is always the same: what feels matching to you?
the energy behind a great business name
A strong business name does several things at once.
- It communicates what you stand for.
- It attracts the right people and creates an instant sense of belonging for your ideal client.
- It is memorable, speakable, and searchable.
- And it grows with you.
But beyond the practical, a great business name carries energy. It resonates. It feels alive. When you say it out loud, it sounds like you. When you introduce yourself with it, you stand a little taller.
This is something that no naming formula can manufacture. It has to come from your authentic, unique energy.
how sunny and the moon was born
I did not sit down with a strategy document or a naming framework. I sat down with a dear friend, and we talked and laughed and fantasized about our future.
She mentioned that I need a name for my future empire, as a joke. Which I took seriously!
And there it was. The very first thing that came to mind. sunny and the moon.
Sunny is my nickname. I felt never connected to my birth name, and a friend at some point started to call me Sunny and others followed. It is the part of me that shows up, that leads, that radiates, that is positive and full of life.
As a Business Mentor, it reflects exactly the energy I bring to my work: clarity, warmth, and a deep belief that building a business can feel good.
And I always loved the moon. Its phases. It’s quiet power.
The way it moves through darkness and light. The way it reminds us that everything is temporary.
That every ending holds a new beginning. That we are always, always in a new phase, in life, and in business.
Sun and moon. Fire and flow. The light that leads and the phases that shape you.
That is my business. That is me. And every time I say the name, I remember why I started.

what your business name carries – practically and energetically
Once you have found your name, it is worth understanding what it means to own it and to protect it.
Registering a business name and trademarking a brand are two very different things. Depending on where you operate, how you grow, and which markets you want to reach, the level of protection you need will vary.
This is something worth exploring with a legal professional who understands your specific situation. Someone who can advise you on what makes sense for your business, your industry, and your vision.
What I can tell you from my own experience: the moment I started treating my name as something worth protecting, something shifted.
It stopped being a nice idea and became a brand.
Your business name is part of your intellectual property. Treat it accordingly.
personal branding and the name that grows with you
One of the most common fears I hear from entrepreneurs when it comes to naming their business is this: what if I choose the wrong one? What if I outgrow it? What if it does not scale?
Here is what I have learned.
A name that is deeply true to you will grow with you, because you will grow into it.
The brands that feel stale after a few years are often the ones that were chosen from the head rather than the gut. The ones that tried to sound impressive rather than feel real.
Your business name is a living thing.
It evolves as you evolve. And the foundation of a strong personal brand is always authenticity.
A name, a story, a presence that people can trust because it is genuinely you.

finding your name
If you are still in the process of naming your business, here is what always helps me.
Say it out loud. Many times. In different contexts. How does it feel when you introduce yourself at a networking event?
How does it look in your email signature?
How does it sound when a client recommends you to a friend?
Send it to someone you trust at midnight. Sleep on it. Notice what happens in your body when you say it out loud.
The right business name feels like recognition. Like something you already knew. Like coming home.
And sometimes like it did for me it arrives in a single moment of laughter with a dear friend, completely unforced, completely clear.
Your business name is where your story begins.
Make it one worth telling.

Lots of love
